Connecting to Networked Printers at Arnold Bernhard Library

When you send a print job to the ABL printers, it enters an electronic queue from which you may release it at any printer in the library using your QCard. Print jobs are held in queue for 24 hours. Each of the six printers in the library has a card swipe attachment that allows it to recognize you and release your print jobs. You can send a print job to the library print queue from anywhere on campus and then release and print the job at the library later.

If you are logged into the network, you can add the library print queue to your computer's printer list.

Click on the Start button at lower left of your computer screen, click on "Run..." and type or paste in \\ps-maple\qu printing (include the space between "qu" and "printing") and click on OK. Your printer list (from the File menu, Print....) will now show the queue as "QU Printing on ps-maple" or similar.

You must have your QCard to print or copy at the ABL library printers. Your QCard includes an account for printing with an automatic credit per six-month period. Photocopying costs 10 cents per page, as before. (Guest cards are available for visitors.) More information here.

Using your QCard on a machine opens your QCard account for use. Instructions on how to use your QCard to copy or release print jobs at the ABL printers are displayed at each of the library's printers.
