Virtual Private Network (VPN) provides a secure means to access the Quinnipiac University Network through the internet. Using VPN, you can access the full array of Quinnipiac network resources. Because there is a limited number of concurrent VPN connections, you should use VPN only to access Quinnipiac network resources; log off VPN and use a standard internet connection to visit locations outside the network. A user is allowed one connection via VPN, whicn can be used with dial-up or broadband.
To use VPN, you must download the VPN client to your computer while you are on campus, logged into the network. VPN will run only with Cisco security. VPN and Cisco Security are located on Quinnipiac’s software server. Run \\quinnipiac.edu\software\Common\VPN\Latest_VPN-Client\ to find application folders and necessary documentation. Be sure to read the text file, PLEASE README FIRST.txt for important information. Copy the program vpnclient_setup.exe from the VPN-Client_4.8.01-General folder to your desktop and double-click to run.
Web VPN, also known as Quinnipiac Remote Web Resources, is another secure means to access the Quinnipiac network. Because QRWR is web-based and does not use the Cisco client, it can be used when you are at a non-secure location (out of the country, not at your own computer, etc). QRWR currently gives access to a limited number of resources on the network. One of the most valuable resources currently available is the Arnold Bernhard Library's secure research databases. The library offers more information at this page.
Any problems or comments associated with VPN should be forwarded to the Help Desk via the Help Desk Request form. Access Web VPN at
