Doctoral Workshop Program

Click on the above links for information about the 2017 CHARM. Additional links will be posted as they become available.

This workshop is aimed at doctoral students working in marketing, history, and social science departments who are interested in developing their methodological and historical research skills. In addition to sessions focusing on various aspects of the historiography of marketing, historical methodology, archival research skills, and the relationship between history and marketing theory, the workshop will offer a friendly and collegial environment for doctoral students to discuss research- and career-related issues. Doctoral students will be given ample opportunity to discuss dissertation proposals and employment opportunities in marketing and marketing history.

Student proposals will be entered into the competition for the The Donald F. Dixon Scholarship that will cover the cost of registration to the Workshop and CHARM Conference for up to the five best papers or abstracts accepted to CHARM by a doctoral student. In additional, full student manuscripts submitted to CHARM will compete for the David D. Monieson Best Student Paper Award.

The workshop will be held in conjunction with the 18th Biennial Conference on Historical Analysis and Research in Marketing (CHARM) at Liverpool John Moores University, Liverpool, U.K.

Doctoral workshop program will be posted in early April.
