Some examples of rubrics from a variety of disciplines, and general suggestions about grading and evaluating papers, were presented at a workshop by Quinnipiac University Writing Across the Curriculum.  These can be found at the link below.

Call for Rubrics

Rubrics are an important tool for faculty to develop assignments and assess student learning.  Good rubrics clarify expectations for both students and teachers.  The Editorial Board for the Teaching Resources website in association with the Faculty Collaborative for Excellence in Teaching and Learning is soliciting rubrics to be made available to all faculty at Quinnipiac University.

Submitted rubrics will be posted on the Teaching Resources website after review by the editorial board.  Each rubric should be accompanied by the following information: its purpose, the objective of the rubric; its methodology, how it is used; and its results, how well it works.  In addition, provide the discipline or course where the rubric is used, and whether the rubric is used for individual or team evaluation, and identify the type of assignment for which the rubric is designed (e.g., formal essay, in-class writing exercise, experimental findings (e.g. lab report, thesis project), research paper, oral presentation, discussion board.)
