This discussion centers on the understandings and uses of the term “culture” in academia. How culture gets put to work for practical outcomes, how it is defined differently across disciplines, and the potential promises and pitfalls of the term will be considered.
Part of this session will focus on the ways ‘culture’ is defined and used in your home department and discipline. Please bring an example of how you use the term ‘culture’ in the context of your teaching and scholarship.
