Delete Threads and Preserve Forums

Having many threads in many forums can affect the time it takes for a Blackboard Discussion page to open.  If you have finished grading a discussion you can delete the Threads and regain some efficiency. 

This is how to delete Threads but preserve the Forum so that it can be copied to another semester's course.

Note:  Threads are permanently deleted and cannot be retrieved.  Any grade book entry that you made for the Discussion will be preserved.

 

Procedure

 

1.  Go to the Discussion Board in you course. Click on the title link of the Forum to expose the Threads.

2. Scroll to the bottom of the Forum and choose Select All in the drop down box

3. Click the Go Button.  Green checks will appear before each Thread.

4.  Click the Remove button at the top of the Forum page.

Threads will be erased permanently.
