Hot Spot Questions

Hot spot questions allow you to ask students to identify something in a image by clicking it. You can create several "hot spots" and designate one as correct.

     Print Instructions

    1. From the course menu on the left of your course page, click "Control Panel."
    2. Click "Test Manager" in the Assessment area on the right.
    3. Click "Add Test." The "Test Information" page appears.
    4. Click the text box next to name and type a name for your test.
    5. Click the text box under "Description" and type a description for your test.
    6. In the next text box, type instructions for your students.
    7. Click "Submit" on the bottom right of the screen. The "Test Canvas" appears.
    8. Click the combo box to display the question types.
    9. Click "Hot Spot ."
    10. Click "Go."
    11. Click the text box and type the question.
    12. Click the "Point Value" text box and type a point value.
    13. Click "Browse."
    14. Select an image file from your local folders. Note: You may have to navigate to another folder. Note: .bmp and .png images work best. I had trouble with other formats. You may have to exsperiment a bit with different file types.
    15. Click an image, then click "open."
    16. Click "Next."
    17. Hold down your left mouse button and drag it to create a box around the desired part of the image. This will create a "hot spot" field. A click in this area will result in a correct response.
    18. Click the text boxes and type correct and incorrect answer feedback.
    19. Click "Modify" to select a category, level of difficulty, or learning objective.
    20. If there are categories available, you can select the ones you wish.
    21. Click "Submit."
    22. Click "Submit."
    23. Scroll down and click "OK."
    24. Click "Submit."
    25. Click "OK."
    26. Click "OK."
