Hot Spot Questions
Hot spot questions allow you to ask students to identify something in a image by clicking it. You can create several "hot spots" and designate one as correct.
Print Instructions
- From the course menu on the left of your course page, click "Control Panel."
- Click "Test Manager" in the Assessment area on the right.
- Click "Add Test." The "Test Information" page appears.
- Click the text box next to name and type a name for your test.
- Click the text box under "Description" and type a description for your test.
- In the next text box, type instructions for your students.
- Click "Submit" on the bottom right of the screen. The "Test Canvas" appears.
- Click the combo box to display the question types.
- Click "Hot Spot ."
- Click "Go."
- Click the text box and type the question.
- Click the "Point Value" text box and type a point value.
- Click "Browse."
- Select an image file from your local folders. Note: You may have to navigate to another folder. Note: .bmp and .png images work best. I had trouble with other formats. You may have to exsperiment a bit with different file types.
- Click an image, then click "open."
- Click "Next."
- Hold down your left mouse button and drag it to create a box around the desired part of the image. This will create a "hot spot" field. A click in this area will result in a correct response.
- Click the text boxes and type correct and incorrect answer feedback.
- Click "Modify" to select a category, level of difficulty, or learning objective.
- If there are categories available, you can select the ones you wish.
- Click "Submit."
- Click "Submit."
- Scroll down and click "OK."
- Click "Submit."
- Click "OK."
- Click "OK."
