The Blog Feature in Blackboard

The blog feature functions like a true paper journal that can be configured for individual students, groups of students, or an entire class. The most popular uses of this feature are individual blogs accessed by single students and the instructor, and group blogs which are available to groups of students selected by the instructor. Group blogs allow for peer editing and review, and peer comments. These blogs can also be used as a drafting tool as it allows the editing of entries while maintaining a history of the various versions. It will compare versions as well.

Blogs can be created within any content area. You may find it useful to add a new content area called "Blogs" rather than create it in one of the default content areas. Your instructional technologist can help you decide the best way to configure this tool for your needs.
