Using Groups in a Blackboard Course

Blackboard allows instructors to create virtual group meeting spaces where students can share files, discuss materials, or send e-mail to each other. The instructor has access to these groups by default. To make group creation a bit easier, we have created 6 generic groups in each course. Instructors have only to name the groups, add users, and select the properties they wish to enable in order to begin.

Groups can be created within any content area; however, you may find it useful to add a new content area called "Groups" rather than create it in one of the default content areas.
