The Journal Feature in Blackboard

The journal feature functions like a true paper journal that can be configured for individual students, groups of students, or an entire class. The most popular uses of this feature are individual journals accessed by a single students and the instructor, and group journals which are available to groups of students selected by the instructor. Group journals allow for peer editing and review, and peer comments.

Journals can be created within any content area. You may find it useful to add a new content area called "Journals" rather than create it in one of the default content areas.
